Lanzarote has lots to offer all holidaymakers but what about the children? Most children love the pool and the beach but they need other things to do when away for maybe two weeks or more. This page has a list of some excellent trips that the children will enjoy. They aren`t listed in any particular order or preference. They are all excellent places to visit that wont break the bank. Believe it or not there are some days in Lanzarote when the sun doesnt shine!! Also there may be days when you simply want to keep the children out of the sun so its a good idea to break up those trips to the beach or those lazy days by the pool. Its not much fun for a child if they get too much sun and not too much fun for the parents either.
All children love Aquariums so a trip to the Lanzarote Aquarium in Arecife is an absolute must.. There are more than 33 aquarium tanks with all sorts of marine fish ranging from the ever favourite clown fish (NEMO) to sharks. There are three tactile aquarium tanks where younger children can have a hands on experience. The kids will love the underwater tunnel. There is a strong ecological and conservation theme to the Aquarium but it is also a fun place. Your kids will love it. So will the adults. The Aquarium is open 10.00 till 19.00 every day.
If you are staying in Playa Blanca then Kikoland is just for you. The childrens play area is part of the Princess Yaiza Hotel complex right on the sea front by the Playa Dorada beach Thisis a huge area of supervised activities in three age groups.

Back on the sea life theme, this museum is great to visit for both children and adults. You couldn`t get a better setting for the museum which has a full sized skeleton of a whale at its entrance. The waters off Lanzarote are teeming with whales and dolphins. Puerto Calero is an up market resort with a top class marina. Have a meal in one of the waterside restaurants after visiting the museum or just have a stroll round the marina taking in the ambience. The museum is open Tuesday to Saturday 10.00 till 18.00. Admission is 8 euros for adults , 5 euros for 7-16 and under 6 entrance is free. For more info go here /www.museodecetaceos.org/

Kids and adults love the water parks. There is only one on Lanzarote. You can find it on the main road out of the resort next to the Golf Course. The park is open 10.00 till 18.00 every day. Unfortunately it is not cheap, adult admission is 22.50 Euros, kids 2-12 16 euros so make a day of it.Three large slides and other smaller ones are there to be enjoyed .This park is on the small side so older children/teens may be dissapointed .There are also bars and food outlets as well as kiddies rides and trampolines etc all the stuff kids love. The water is unheated so I would give it a miss in the winter if you have young children. They will find it too cold. Click on the logo on the right for more info about the park,
Open 9.30 till 17.30 every day Rancho Texas is an adventure for everyone with special shows and animals on view. There is a wild west theme to the park. which kids love. What is the connection with Texas? Well Austin in Texas USA was founded by immigrants from Lanzarote in the 17th century and the climate of Texas is not unlike Lanzarote especially the arid landscape. The Ranch is just outside Puerto del Carmen . You can go by car, taxi or the special Rancho Texas bus which has pick up points in different places.
